Our Link with SCA

Sports Chaplaincy Australia Inc. (SCA) formerly known as Specialized Life-Oriented Ministries (SLM) is the main associated body that provides chaplains to a variety of sports around Australia.

SCA began as a Chaplaincy service to Professional Sport in 1984 when Mark Tronson was appointed as the Chaplain of the Australian Cricket Team.

From these small beginnings SCA is now a large organisation with over 100 chaplains in sports such as Motor Racing, Basketball, Cricket, Netball, Soccer, Rugby League, AFL and Golf throughout Australia.

SCA assists local churches in developing sporting teams and in connecting with its local community.

SCA is an interdenominational church ministry including all the main line churches that is run by a board of directors representing the different churches. The chaplains and supporters meet once a year for fellowship, encouragement and training.
